Terms of Use.
These terms explain the conditions for using Brrk, including beta status, user content, third-party API use, and limitations.
Use
1. Acceptance
By installing or using Brrk, you agree to these Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
2. What Brrk does
Brrk is an Android reading-support app for paper books and PDFs. It can capture or import content, send selected content to Mistral for OCR or vocabulary lookup, and store local Markdown, notes, tags, manual edits, and vocabulary.
3. Beta status
Brrk is provided as beta software. Features may change, fail, or be removed. OCR and vocabulary results may be inaccurate. You should keep independent backups of important materials.
4. Your content and rights
You are responsible for the books, PDFs, images, text, notes, and vocabulary content you use with Brrk. You must only process content when you have the rights or permission to do so.
You keep your rights in your content. Brrk does not claim ownership of your documents, OCR Markdown, manual edits, notes, or vocabulary.
5. Mistral API key and third-party services
Brrk uses your own Mistral API key for OCR and vocabulary lookup. You are responsible for your Mistral account, API key, usage, limits, billing, and compliance with Mistral's terms.
Brrk cannot guarantee Mistral availability, pricing, output quality, rate limits, or policy decisions.
6. Acceptable use
- Do not use Brrk to process content illegally.
- Do not use Brrk to infringe copyright or other rights.
- Do not use Brrk to send sensitive data to third-party services unless you understand and accept the risk.
- Do not attempt to abuse, overload, reverse engineer, or interfere with services used by Brrk.
7. No accounts
Brrk does not provide user accounts. Because there is no Brrk account, there is no Brrk account-deletion flow. Local app data can be deleted through app features, Android app settings, or uninstalling the app.
8. Open-source code
Brrk's source code may be available under an open-source license in the project repository. The open-source license applies to the source code. These Terms apply to your use of the distributed app unless a specific license or law says otherwise.
9. No warranty
Brrk is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. The developer does not warrant that Brrk will be error-free, secure, uninterrupted, or fit for a particular purpose.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for lost data, lost profits, account charges, service interruptions, OCR mistakes, vocabulary mistakes, or other damages arising from use of Brrk.
11. Changes
These terms may be updated as Brrk changes. The effective date at the top of this page indicates the latest revision.
12. Contact
Questions may be submitted through GitHub Issues. Do not include API keys, private documents, or sensitive personal information in public issues. For privacy inquiries, contact junya.chikob@gmail.com.
